The Tenaha Independent School District is taking part in the U.S.D.A. Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided at the Tenaha ISD cafeteria Monday through Thursday starting June 7th and running through through July 1st. Breakfast will be served from 7:30am to 8:30am and lunch from 11:30am to 12:30pm.
During the school year, many Tenaha, TX children receive free and reduced-price breakfast and lunch through the school breakfast and lunch programs. During the summer months lack of nutrition may set up a cycle for poor performance once school begins again. The Summer Food Service Program is designed to fill that nutrition gap and make sure children can get the nutritious meals they need.
Any child of 1 to 18 years may participate. People 19 or above may also be served meals if the person is mentally or physically disabled by a state or local agency,and/or the person is participating in public or private nonprofit school programs for the disabled during the school year.
